Johnny Cash Tribute Band The Ring of Fire at the Belladrum Festival
The Ring of Fire played Johnny Cash numbers to a packed hall with true professionalism on Saturday 14th June. They were well supported by great acoustic duo - The Yips.
Luxborough Village Hall
put on a really good night once again. People travelled down from
London and up from Exeter as well from all the surrounding towns and
villages. There were people from Tiverton, Wellington, Milverton,
Minehead and Watchet to name but a few. A good number of the
tables were snapped up early by local residents. The age range of
the audience was quite extraordinary with teens to '80teens' enjoing
the evening to the full.
Everyone finally got seated at tables in both front and back hall for supper. Extra room at some tables was made for latecomers and more tables were brought out to accommodate unexpected sales of tickets on the door. The Yips played us through our early supper with a variety of well known covers from some of the old classics. We heard numbers from a variety of bands including The Eagles and The Everley Brothers with some very good harmonies. The Ring of Fire came on
after supper and started with professional enthusiasm which got
everyone tapping their feet to those well known Cash
numbers. The applause came loud and clear after their first set.
The Yips once more entertained the audience during the interval with some more of those good old hits with the emphasis on good harmonies. The playlist included numbers that everyone knows the chorus to (if not the verse). Plenty of singing along was heard to those well known tunes. The second set from the Ring of Fire went down a storm. The crowd was by now really in the swing of things and dancing was the order of the night. The Ring of Fire proved to be a hit and their musical and vocal talents well received.Everyone we spoke to said they had really enjoyed it. The food was included in the price and went down a treat - it was tasty, filling and just the ticket - (sorry!)
Well done Luxborough for pulling such a great evening together.
This really was a great follow up to the John Etheridge & Chris Garrickjazz night and the Mad Woman in the Attick play - What will you come up with next? We cant wait! The Ring of Fire This is a no gimmicks band with the emphasis on live vocal and musical performance http://www.theringoffire.co.uk
